The Carter Family Summerville Family Photo Session

Capturing the Carter Family's photo session is one of the highlights of my career. Here at Ray Wedding Services I love working with families like these. The Carters are a great, and we had a fun time. Working with this family allowed me to see how much love they share and participate in some of the fun. Here are some words about them. In this article I asked the Carters to tell us a bit about themselves. This is what they had to say.

• When Was the Last Time You Had Family Photos Taken?

Outside of professional photos taken at annual school events, this is our first time taking family photos in over six years.  Lyric wasn't even born the last time we took pictures. 

• How Would You Describe Your Family?

Lyric is the little diva of the family.  The child that makes you nervous because she's always going to say what's on her mind!

She likes to spend her time on a playground or playing with her dolls, Barbies, makeup, and paint. Jeffrey is my sweet big boy. He was actually a preemie and two pounds at birth.

He loves Fortnite, baseball, Tiktok, and drawing. He is also the mayor of his 4th-grade class. How cool is that? I'm pretty laidback myself and usually go with the flow. I like reading, shopping, sightseeing, and a good "girls' night out" here and there.  I also love being a mom and spending time with my children.

• What Is Your Favorite Thing to Do as A Family?

I like to think we're a fun family. We have a lot of fun times as a team. We love to turn on music and dance. Our dance parties often lead to pretty decent rap battles as well!

• What Do You Want to Remember About This Season in Your Family's Life?

This season has been full of uncertainty, transitions, and new beginnings for us!  Due to the pandemic, we spent soooo much time at home together over the past year. It was just the three of us. We definitely had our share of drive-thru birthday parties, virtual school, Door Dash, gardening, and Zoom Bingo. And we can't forget about the sibling fights, complete meltdowns, and Alexander (our new gerbil).

Through it all, we stayed together, and our love has grown. I hope that some of their favorite childhood memories will come from this time that we spent together. As for myself, I know that some of my favorite memories with them are from this past year.

• How Would You Best Describe Your Family's Activities and Interests?

The best way I can put this is that we are silly. We are always laughing and joking about something. We love board games, impromptu dance parties, playing outdoors, and road trips. For me, these are the special moments that last a lifetime.

• How Would Your Family Spend A Perfect Day If Y'all Had One?

A perfect day would be a road trip. The kids would pack their bookbags with tablets, chargers, and snacks.  Then, we'd head wherever stopping along the way if we see something interesting on the drive. A chance like this would mean lots of bonding time, and I love the wide-open roads.

• How Did You Hear About Us and What Made You Decide to Work with Ray Photography?

I learned about RayWeddingServices through Facebook posts. I decided to work with RayWeddingServices because I liked the photos I saw. I also wanted to support a minority and locally owned business. 

• How I did At The Carter Family Session?

As I mentioned earlier, I enjoyed spending time capturing this couple. It means a lot to me when families reach out to take pictures like these. There's an unspoken knowledge that these images will be passed down, and so I do my best. I wish The Carters the best and many more happy milestones to celebrate.
