Charleston Maternity Session Folly Beach Lighthouse Photography

Maternity sessions are really special to us here at Ray Wedding Services. Being able to celebrate a mother and the life growing within her is so very special. We love to document these moments.

That's why we were so excited when Kelvonna Lodge reached out to us. She's family, but she also loved the photography sessions we'd show cased on our website and social media. Her maternity session took place at Folly Beach Light House.

• The Venue

This lovely but now defunct lighthouse stands at the entrance to Charleston Harbor. It has a beautiful view of the sands and the waters. This place also has a lot of history associated with it and was a stunning location for Kelvonna's Charleston maternity photoshoot.

You'll love the pictures from this maternity session, but before you check them out, I asked Kelvonna to tell us about herself. Here's what she had to say.

• Tell Us About Yourself In A Few Words 

Well, in a few words, I'd say that I am energetic, artistic, and motivated. It's something I am proud of and has helped me be who I am. 

• How Far Along Are You?              

I am Eight months, 35 weeks, and five days along now. I am so excited that I am a mom to be for a baby boy. I am delighted that we're at this point.

• What Do You Love the Most About This Period of Your Life?      

The fact that I'm bringing a beautiful new life into the world. Motherhood is an inspiring and illuminating experience.

• What Do You Hate the Most About This Period of Your Life?       

Absolutely nothing! These have been some of my best days, and I wouldn't have it any other way. 

• What Is One Surprise You Did Not See Coming About Pregnancy?             

I never thought that my boyfriend would be experiencing my symptoms instead of me. Haha, I bet nobody expected that either.

• Any Advice for Other Women Just Like You? Something You Wish Someone Had Given You A Heads-Up About.   

No matter what period of life you're in, bringing a child into the world is a blessing. Life doesn't stop because you're pregnant. Go out and have fun and live every day like it's your last. Being a mother is a blessing many females wish for, so never take the opportunity for granted.

• What Is Your Favorite Thing to Do?           

I love to dance. There's a happiness and excitement that comes with being able to express yourself in a dance. As I said earlier, I am artistic, so I also love to draw.

• How Did You Hear About Us, And What Made You Decide to Work With Ray Wedding Services?

You're family and also from the beautiful work I have seen on your website and social media. I am glad I choose to have my maternity session with you guys.

• How I Did at Kelvonna's Maternity Session

I had a great time documenting this special milestone in Kelvonna's life. Children are a blessing (I love and adore mine), so being able to capture her and preserve this moment in pictures meant a lot. I wish you all the best, Kelvonna Lodge, and congratulations!!!
