A Fairytale Wedding at Castle McCullough

Some weddings leave a lasting mark, and Ciara and Austin’s celebration at Castle McCullough Jamestown NC (@thecastlemcculloch)  is one we will never forget. The Ray Wedding Services team had the honor of providing both photography and DJ services for this beautiful couple. This allowed us to experience their day from every angle.

• Photography, Wedding Venue and Vendors

When the couple booked our Photo and DJ package, they shared that they wanted a seamless, stress free experience. So we ensured we gave them music that matched the energy of the day and photography that captured the realness of their love. They wanted moments that felt natural, not staged, so from the start, we made it our mission to deliver exactly that.

For photography we spent multiple days with the couple, beginning at their hotel and continuing through to the venue. Traveling with them helped build comfort and trust, and that bond translated beautifully into the images. By the time the wedding began, it felt like working with friends rather than clients.

Castle McCullough is one of those rare venues that seems to rise straight out of a storybook. The historic stone paths, warm lighting, and striking architecture gave us countless opportunities to craft memorable portraits. We explored every corner of the grounds, played with shadows and natural light, and captured a mix of elegant posed shots and honest candid moments.

Additionally, the couple was open to creativity, which allowed us to experiment with angles, perspectives, and fresh ideas. This truly brought their personalities forward leading to timeless photos.

Another thing we loved about this couple was their excitement. If they had a spontaneous idea for a photo, we made it happen. If we suggested something new, they gave us full trust. That collaboration created photos that were vibrant, authentic, and deeply personal.

My husband and I booked Photo and Dj services for our wedding. They traveled hours to our hotel and venue and spent multiple days capturing our wonderful moments forever. Delmar was awesome and coordinated with us about poses and staged photos all around the venue and hotel. Delmar is also down for random ideas and trying new things which is super refreshing!

The vendors chosen for the wedding contributed to the magic in their own ways. Curbside Cakery (@curbsidecakery) created a gorgeous cake that photographed perfectly. Pepper Moon Catering (@peppermooncatering)  brought delicious food that set the tone for a warm and lively reception. Bennett’s Baskets and Bows (@bennettsbasketsnbows) handled the décor, flowers, and chandeliers, transforming the space into something elegant and timeless. Their work elevated the visuals of the entire day and made each image that much richer.

• North Carolina Wedding Reception

At the wedding reception, Ray Wedding Services covered the music. Ciara and Austin did not want to worry about whether we had a certain song. They wanted a DJ who could read the room, control the energy, and fill the night with music that felt like them.

To achieve this, we prepared their playlist in advance, ensuring every key moment had a fitting soundtrack. And if they requested a song that was not already in our library, we got it instantly. Smooth transitions and stress free entertainment are part of who we are, and it showed throughout the night.

Watching them dance after photographing them earlier in the day created a beautiful connection for us. Photography freezes a moment in time, while music shapes the atmosphere that surrounds it. Seeing their joy from both sides was a reminder of why offering combined Photo and DJ services adds something special to a wedding experience.
